Product description Just possibly the luckiest pop musician in history (replacing hapless Pete Best in the Beatles on the eve of their EMI signing and the unprecedented fame that followed), Ringo Starr wasted no time carving out his own comfortable--and surprisingly successful--post-Fabs career in the early 1970s. This concise greatest-hits package (ostensibly a contractual-filling farewell to his longtime label) compiles all of the drummer's top 10 hits, including the evergreen smashes "Photograph" and "You're Sixteen," as well as the hit singles "It Don't Come Easy" and "Back Off Boogaloo." The charming B-side "Early 1970" (chronicling the contemporary lives of three of Starr's suspiciously familiar musician friends) is also included. It may shortchange Ringo's lovingly quirky early country & western and Tin Pan Alley collections (Beaucoups of Blues and Sentimental Journey, respectively), but it's still a great choice for hit-hungry fans. --Jerry McCulley .com Just possibly the luckiest pop musician in history (replacing hapless Pete Best in the Beatles on the eve of their EMI signing and the unprecedented fame that followed), Ringo Starr wasted no time carving out his own comfortable--and surprisingly successful--post-Fabs career in the early 1970s. For Beatles fans, this is a must have album
It was the 4 of them, all 4 of them that made the magic of the Beatles. There are some great songs on this solo album: "Photograph" and "It Don't Come Easy" being my favorites. Also "I am the Greatest" is fun, written by John Lennon. Others: "You're 16," "No No Song," "Back Off Boogaloo," "Only You," and "Oh My My." I have seen this album issued on red Apple label that appears to be at least 180 grams. I was hoping that was what I purchased. Instead I got a green label Capitol release. It is thin vinyl with a small warp that causes some fizz and a thumping sound when the cartridge crosses the warp. Mainly you hear these distortions between songs, but, they can be heard also at quieter parts of songs like the beginning and ending of songs. At least there are no loud pops or a huge warp that I have found on LP's of lower quality than Capital. Capital is usually a better quality label, even when using thin vinyl. Get the 180gr+ vinyl if you can.

Truly a Greatest Hits Album
From 1971 to 1975, Ringo Starr cut a string of seven consecutive Top 10 records, including back-to-back number ones in 1973, and they're all right here!Led by the twin front-runners, "Photograph" and "You're Sixteen", this collection is Ringo at his post-Beatles height. Don't get into a discussion of which of his song's is the best; you'll be in for an argument. Despite the top placement of the two previously mentioned hits, many people will vote for "The No No Song", others for "Oh My My" or "Only You", and still others for my personal favorite "It Don't Come Easy", the first of the solo chart busters. It really doesn't matter which anyone thinks is best; they're all great. The album itself was released on the Apple/Parlophone label, which makes it sort of a musical historical curiosity. The mastering is excellent and the sound crystal clear.Ringo's solo success only lasted a brief four years in the early 70s, but it doesn't matter. Thirty years later, these songs still rock the house. This album is truly a "Blast from the Past!" Don't miss it.

every song on here is good
Got this back in the early nineties. I was working at a record store called Camelot Music and they gave their employees pretty good discounts back then. I was already a huge Beatles fan and this was my first solo Ringo CD purchase (i had previously owned a vinyl copy of his 1973 album 'Ringo'. didn't like that one as much) Best songs are : It Don't Come Easy, No No Song,Only You, I'm the Greatest, Back of Boogaloo, Beaucoups the Blues (the country album Ringo released with this song is also worth checking out), and Early 1970. yep, that's about the whole album. I know there is now a newer more updated Greatest Hits package for Ringo, but, i am not trading in my copy of "Blast From Your Past" anytime soon.

Best old tunes of Ringo
Alot of these tracks on this record are very popular when it comes to Ringo and the 70's. Great songs for anyone who is wanting to get to know Ringo's music, esp on vinyl. No scratches or skips on this one and for a very good price. I would also recomend the album "Photograph: The Very Best of Ringo", beacuse the tracks on this album are also included on that album and alot more great hits. Good choice.

Ringo Starr Blast From Your Past
This is the greatest hits from Ringo after the Beatles broke up, and there are some great cuts on this effort. "It Don't Come Easy", "Your Sixteen, Your Beautiful, and Your Mine", and "The No-No Song" are some of the cuts offered here. Add this to your collection if you enjoy Blasts from Your Past.

My wife thinks it's brill
I never really got into the beatles much however I got this for my wife who had a copy years ago and she loves it. To be honest I like it too, tunes I'd forgotten about from the past like "Your Sixteen" and "Back off boogaloo" still sound great.

Best Birthday Gift.
It was a gift for my husband and he loved it. He plans to have it framed and put up in his music room next to his drum set. It was also here in half the time that was stated.
