This is a very useful tool for anyone prior to buying a car. I have tested it on the two family cars and it clearly shows where any panel has been re-sprayed. A good reading for original factory paint is Between 1mm-1.5. Any other reading would indicate some work has been carried out. Testing is non destructive simply press the probe onto the coated metal, just remember to clear the tool between each reading. Simple to use and is good value for money potentially saving you hundreds of pounds.

Very useful. Too many times we have bought cars without knowing if they have been crashed and repainted. This helps with that and to know whether to avoid a car or to negotiate on the price

It is amazing how much a better a car can look once it’s been properly detailed and it’s far more cost effective and satisfactory to do it yourself., particularly to get out those scratches and paintwork swirl marks that appear over time. To do so, I use an orbital polisher but always wondered how much paint depth there was to work with and so thought I’d give a gauge a try.I chose this one on appearance and price and I have been pleased with my choice. It is neat, feels well built and very easy to use. I’ve also checked the results against a paint shops more expensive gauge and we got the same readings. Really pleased with the purchase.

My expectation, based on its price were low, so imagine my surprise to find this DFT gauge is actually very accurate. We tested it against another much more expensive professional device and it was spot on. I calibrated it against know polymer sheets and again it was cock on.

Was reading but not accurate at all, would not trust but you get what you pay for

Fairly inaccurate, often shows 0.00 even though the car has not had any bodywork. Somehow struggles with silver cars. Sometimes can show different measurements on the same spot.Only place where it shows accurate measurements is when testing metal fridge walls or any other metal household item. Would not recommend buying if you want to test car paint thickness.On the good side is that it was easy to use, quality is mediocre, digits are visible in direct sunlight.

It is hard to compare as I have no other device like this. As I checked a few car with it always came with accurate results.It does the job for a little money. If you're thinking of a commercial use, might be better of with a more expensive one.

its ok for what it is and good valve but really only any good to compare pint depth on panels, not to take accurate readings, good value and easy to use

Gefallen hat mir die schnelle Lieferung, die leichte Bedienbarkeit und der Preis. War skeptisch um es mal so zu sagen. Aber Produkt kann überzeugen.Nicht überzeugt hat mich die etwas umständliche Verpackung. Ist aber nur unwesentlich!

Spessimetro digitale per vernici. Misura lo spessore della vernice solo su materiali ferrosi, no plastiche. Lo spessimetro è conforme alla descrizione, nella confezione non sono comprese le due pile DL/CR 2032. Lo spessimetro legge correttamente la misurazione degli spessori, non essendo uno strumento professionale non posso pretendere di avere la precisione di altri molto più costosi. Ad ogni modo è molto utile nell'acquisto di un auto usata per verificare se una parte dell'auto è stata riverniciata. Buon prodotto.
